Multitasking and Stage Manager
- Enable Stage Manager: For a desktop-like experience, enable Stage Manager from Control Center or Settings > Multitasking & Gestures. This allows you to have overlapping windows and resize apps for a more flexible multitasking experience.
- Create App Groups: In Stage Manager, you can have up to four apps visible simultaneously on your iPad screen, and when connected to an external display, you can have up to four additional apps open, for a total of eight active applications.
- Resize Windows: When using Stage Manager, resize an app by pressing and dragging the bottom right corner of its window, and reposition it by dragging from the three dots at the top.
- Quick App Switching: When using Stage Manager, you can swipe left or right on the bottom edge to cycle through your recent apps without going to the app switcher.
- Split View: Without Stage Manager, swipe up to reveal the Dock, then drag an app to either side of the screen to enter Split View mode.
- Slide Over: Drag an app from the Dock and hold it at the edge of the screen until it forms a floating window that can slide over other apps.
